Agreed 100% w/ @RobFrelow - I wasn't here since the beginning, but that was my favorite discussion in terms of topic & replies.
I'm friends with the Standard Librarians of the Rails Girls Summer of Code who put together an awesome project designed to help people learn the Ruby Standard Library through interactive lessons. They built up some great momentum and are continuing with the project. I know that they'll be looking to bring more women onto the project, so I'll keep you folks posted when I find out more (or maybe we can get them right here onto the forum!)
One thing I will say is that, for all the bad stuff that exists in tech, there is an entire community of amazingly supportive people. I guess you just kind of have to "know where to look"... and from the looks of it, CodeNewbie is going to be the #1 spot
