Continuing the discussion from Introduce Yourself!:
I advise a basic CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) application.
Code a HTML Form (Use CSS if you want).
Have that form send the contents to a back end of your choice.
Have that back end send the data to the database of your choice.
Have a 'view' page which reads the database through the back end.
Handle being able to update / delete said data through HTML forms / back end.
This would get you used to different parts of the stack and could highlight which one you want to focus on.
